The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Need I say more?

A not-so-glamorous bit of trivia: it takes 5 people and 20 layers of butt makeup to ready even some of the most gorgeous women in the world for this runway.

My Holiday Dress Hunt Begins

2009 December 1

I’ve begun my search for the perfect dress to debut this holiday season. Honestly, I have more than enough dresses and outfits for the whole array of parties that will take place this winter, but I want to find one special piece for that main event: New Year’s Eve. Last year I went sparkly and short, but still had a cute, fresh vibe. This year I’m going for a sleeker, sexier look. The problem is that the only dresses I like so far are black and black is not going to stand out on New Year’s Eve.

  1. Alice + Olivia, One sleeve drape top, $264
  2. A.L.C., Pony dress, $698

  1. T-Bags, Diamond mini dress, $225
  2. American Retro, Lizzy dress, $254

  1. Elizabeth & James, Degas dress, $288.75
  2. Free People, Holly’s lace shift mini dress, $98

So while I’m loving these sexy little black dresses, I’m going to keep looking.

Still, I might get one of these anyway because little black dresses are always in style.

Something New, Something Blue

I, for one, am way over the Louboutin red sole. What once was a status symbol has now become cliche. Hopefully, when the fad fades away it will remain as a classic icon, but for now I’m over it. On the other hand, these blue soles are totally fresh. I covet.

I guess I don’t hate bunny ears that much.

Rachel Bilson Flaunts

“New York is more inspiring, I think, than L.A. And you’re definitely closer to the fashion pulse. You see girls walking down the street, and they look amazing. They’re not afraid. No one gives a fuck.”

Rachel Bilson

Now you know I love R. Bils, but I must say I disagree with her statement in an interview with Flaunt Magazine. Everyone in New York does give a fuck, too much so in fact. Being brave and not caring what other people think, though definitely not mutually exclusive, are decidedly not one and the same. And while New Yorkers may score high marks for boldness, I see it much more as a cry for attention rather than a shrugging off of it. In any case, Rachel looks amazing, as always.

2009 Christmas Wishlist – Statement Necklace, Part 2

2009 November 21

Over the years Piperlime has pleasantly surprised me with a great selection of stylish shoes. It’s a great site for people, like me, who find the gargantuan quantities of Zappos merchandise a bit overwhelming. So I was excited to learn that Piperlime started offering jewelry on their website as well. The selection is still small but I already found these great pieces to add to my wishlist:

  1. Kenneth Jay Lane Coral necklace, $112.50
  2. House of Harlow Resin necklace, $125
  3. GS Lillian Flower necklace, $95

The styling for this shoot is great. But what’s with the awkward pose, Blake?
